Noodles are available in various forms, some wheat-based noodles are similar to dried pasta, while others contain egg and are a little higher in fat. Rice noodles are slightly softer in texture and lower in protein than wheat noodles and cellophane or transparent noodles are made from ground mung beans.

Dried savoury noodles in a variety of flavours are becoming increasingly popular. Just add boiling water for a quick and tasty snack or light meal.
Stir-fries & soups
Noodles are a good low-fat accompaniment to a stir-fry, taking only a few minutes to cook while you stir the vegetables and flavourings in the wok. They are also ideal added to a home-made vegetable or chicken broth.
